The theme for the party was based on one of Ella's favorite coloring books "I Absolutely Must Do Coloring Now!" from her favorite television show Charlie and Lola. It's a British TV program that airs on Disney, but it's rather obscure. It required that Peter do some extra homework looking at a book we sent him, and we found out later that he looked up the show online and watched a few episodes so he could get a better idea of what the show was all about. He took the time to communicate with me about a preliminary design plan and asked for input. I was impressed that even though I gave him the freedom to do as he pleased, he still wanted to be sure that he was on the right track and had my approval for his plan.
I will never forget the moment when he delivered the cake to our home the morning of the party. A few of my family members were there early busily helping me get ready, and when he walked through the door we all froze dead in our tracks and quickly swarmed around Pete to get a closer glimpse of the culinary masterpiece he was carrying. We were all grinning and laughing because we were absolutely blown away by how stunning and perfect it was. I'm not kidding when I say that I cried tears of joy, because I did. It was absolutely perfect! He definitely did his research, because the cake perfectly captured our daughter's personality, the charm of the tv show we based the event around, and it looked like the party was planned around the cake (not the other way around) because of the colors and elements he used. The cake tied together the food, the decor, the balloons, and the coloring theme, and made our party a step beyond fabulous. We have Pete to thank for that!
The cake was a two-tiered red velvet cake with raspberry filling. The details on this cake were absolutely incredible. The cake was covered with white fondant, and the bottom tier was encircled with hand-rolled, hand-painted, brightly colored crayons made of fondant. Pete used design elements from the show that our daughter immediately recognized (a real treat for us!), including curly straws and heart-shaped butterflies made from white chocolate. He also mirrored the font used for the logo of Charlie and Lola and created a colorful sign that said "Happy Birthday Ella." It was the perfect touch, and I was incredibly impressed by Pete's meticulous detail work. After admiring the cake throughout the party, we fought over who had to cut the cake, because no one wanted to do it! It was too beautiful! The sadness turned to joy as we cut into that happy, bright red velvet goodness. It was absolutely delicious. Hiring Pete was the best decision I made for our party because it took the stress away, and the amazing cake really made our party an event to remember. Working with him was a joy from start to finish.
My family members still talk about the cake. Not the party, the CAKE.
We can't wait until Pete moves to NYC so we can hire him for every event!"

"Pete was a life savor. I was very picky about how I wanted my cake to look, but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. I drew up a picture of my dream cake and Pete made it a reality. We got so many compliments on a cake that was original, and tasted great! I would recommend his services and delicious, beautiful cakes to anyone. You couldn't work with someone more kind or fun than Pete."

"I want to brag about Pete's mad skills. I showed him this cheeseball picture of a cake I sort of liked from the web. He listened to my thoughts and used his creativity to make it over the top. It is the one pictured under his birthday pix. It has a huge yellow bow and a nametag with my name on it! It was the HIGHLIGHT of my 18th! Dude your making my wedding cake when I find my rich match!!!
